I love what books can teach you about yourself.
I love how they can reveal a hole in your heart you hadn't noticed before and subsequently filled it with optimistic notions and genuinely kind characters.
And I love how these characters become friends whom we cheer on, while, unbeknownst to us, they cheer us on as well.
The ability to provide comfort and friendship in the face of a sometimes forgiving reality is the writer's most endearing quality and most important responsibility.
